This highly popular pan-Asian, tapas-style eatery opened in the Museum District in 2016 and has garnered a loyal following ever since. Eater named it to its 2022 list of “Best Houston Tapas Restaurants,” which makes great sense considering the genuinely inventive fare that Chef/Owner Alan Kundu comes up with. Chef Kundu grew up in a small East Texas town, watching her grandmother cook burgers for local farm workers. She then attended the Art Institute of Houston’s culinary arts program, got a significant amount of restaurant experience under her belt, and, with a vision of her own restaurant in mind, spent time in multiple Asian countries learning their cuisines. And oh, did she learn them well! At Ambrosia, she is serving delectable and shareable plates with a unique Asian Fusion twist, like Masala Lamb Lollipops, Crab Fried Rice, Korean Papas, housemade naan, and so much more. Texas Monthly calls Ambrosia “a lovely surprise,” and don't we know it!
