Freud is acclaimed chef Eduard Frauneder's newest hotspot located in Greenwich Village. As is the case at all of Chef Edi's restaurants, the menu is inspired by his Austrian heritage. However, the atmosphere and food here is much modern than what you'd see at his East Village eatery - Edi & The Wolf. With Freud, Chef Edi offers his contemporary take on brasserie fare inspired by turn-of-the-century Vienna. The restaurant opened a few months ago and is scorching hot - it's regularly been featured in Eater's Manhattan Heat Map.
