About

A veteran on today’s volatile restaurant scene, having opened in 2012, this farm-to-table eatery in Inman Square has kept it current, being named to such 2024 Lists as Infatuation’s “Best in Boston,” Open Table’s “9 Iconic Boston Restaurants,” and Eater’s “38 Essentials.” (By the way, upon its opening, Puritan & Company was named to Bon Appétit's “50 Best New Restaurants in the US” List and was a James Beard “Best New Restaurant” Semi-Finalist.) Chef/Owner Will Gilson honed his skills at some of the area's best restaurants (Oleana and Garden at the Cellar) and is a renowned Chef Charles Draghi mentee. At Puritan & Company, he emphasizes traditional New England fare with some of the best clam chowder and smoked bluefish pâté around, plus mains like pan-roasted halibut, Berkshire pork chop with parmesan polenta, lobster risotto, seared scallops with corn, fennel, and sungold tomatoes, and so much more. And maybe pumpkin ice cream or parsnip cake for dessert? Who knows what Chef Gilson has up his sleeve? Infatuation says, “The vibes feel very New England—you’ll feel like you’re eating dinner in a renovated farmhouse that just happens to be in Inman Square.” ‘Nuff said. See you there!
