About

A North Cambridge staple that shuttered during the pandemic, Season to Taste came roaring back in a new location on Massachusetts Avenue, leading to Boston Magazine promptly naming it to its List of “10 Great Farm-to-Table Restaurants.” Chef/Owner Robert Harris, an Alabama native, honed his skills at the Culinary Institute of America and cooked at Commander’s Palace in New Orleans before settling in Cambridge and cooking at restaurants like Olives, Rialto, East Coast Grill, and EVOO. Here, in this restaurant of his own, he celebrates the seasonal bounty of New England with influences from Southern home cooking and traditional European cuisine. Diners delight in such starters as deviled duck eggs with country ham and nettle gnocchi with artichoke, fiddleheads, and black truffle, main courses that include ham-wrapped scallops with green garlic risotto cake and rhubarb molasses and Aleppo lamb chops with preserved lemon fregola, labneh, and pistachio, and desserts like maple crème brulee with Reisling-poached pears and s’mores tart. Boston Magazine hails Chef Harris as a “chef who’s killing it every damn night,” so need we say more?
