In the food world, former model Chef Hong Thaimee reigns as a true star. One of the most visible faces of Thai cooking the U.S., she has been the chef-owner of three New York City restaurants and has appeared on Iron Chef with Bobby Flay, Iron Gauntlet, and the new Kitchen Wars Thailand. A humanitarian activist, she joins luminaries like Martha Stewart and Padma Lakshmi as a face of the fight against HIV for RED and participates in the RestaurantHer campaign, making the restaurant industry a more equal place for women. She opened Thaimee Table in 2012 as Ngam, which the Village Voice promptly ranked as the Best Thai Food in NYC. She then rebranded it as Thaimee Table in 2017 to much fanfare and, just 6 months ago, she expanded her reach with Thaimee Love as a means of meeting the insatiable demand for her cuisine.
