About

Opened in 2018, this Chamblee eatery has been a perennial on “Best Of” Lists, including Southern Living’s “25 Best Restaurants in Atlanta” ('23) and Resy’s “Top Atlanta Restaurants Right Now” ('24). Executive Chef/Owner Jared Hucks, who grew up in the Atlanta suburbs, began working in restaurants in Vail, Colorado right out of high school. After graduating with honors from the French Culinary Institute in Manhattan, he started cooking all over the world—Central and South America, New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, Italy, Spain (where he cooked at 3-Michelin Starred Arzak), and, ultimately, at NOMA in Denmark, the #1 rated restaurant in the world. Returning to Atlanta, he launched the popular pop-up Dogwood Table and then opened The Alden in 2018. Here, he turns out artful dishes like fried goat cheese salad with rhubarb, fennel, strawberries, and arugula, asparagus velouté with crème fraiche and smoked cacao, and smoked steelhead trout with marmalade and bourbon butter. “Well-designed rooms, terrific food and drinks, awesome location—expect to fall in love,” raves Condé Nast Traveler.
