Opened a year ago this July, this buzzy eatery near Piedmont Park immediately jumped onto Infatuation’s “Best New Restaurants in Atlanta” List. Executive Chef Jean-Louis Sangare hails from the Ivory Coast and pursued his culinary education in Paris. For fifteen years, he held the esteemed position of Chef de Cuisine at the original Bilboquet NY before heading to The Big A. At Verdure, he is delighting diners with starters like charred okra and fried octopus and mains like Zanzibar roasted lamb chops, Senegalese chicken yassa with mustard sauce, caramelized onions, and olives, and Afriki red snapper filet with capers, onions, and basil. Make sure to leave room as well for desserts like tigernut crème brûlée or apple and dates bread pudding. Atlanta Journal-Constitution calls Verdure “a beautiful space…meant to be a destination…a place to see and be seen” while Infatuation salutes its “Pan-African menu delivering some of the most exciting flavors in the city.
