Day 1: 5-Course Avant-American Tasting Series

Opened this past September, this Foggy Bottom eatery in the Hotel AKA Washington Circle leapt right onto Eater’s “Hottest in D.C.” list and The Washingtonian’s “100 Very Best Restaurants” list. A.kitchen+bar is the Washington outpost of Philadelphia’s celebrated Fork Restaurant, the flagship of Ellen Yin’s High Street Hospitality Group. (Ms.Yin won the 2023 James Beard Award for “Outstanding Restaurateur.”) Our hosting chef for this event is George Madosky, the Chef de Cuisine, who has been named a StarChefs Rising Star award winner. Chef Madosky served as Executive Chef at Philadelphia’s Fork Restaurant,. At a.kitchen+bar, he is turning out deeply satisfying and original dishes, from biscuits to scallop crudo with preserved lemon and sunflower gremolata to lamb ribs with crispy garlic and nectarine soffrito to bluefin tuna with beets, harissa, and olives, and so much more. Diners love the look of the place as well, with its light ash banquettes, blackened wood chairs and tables, polished concrete flooring, dark marble counters, and abstract photographic prints. We’re excited for our visit here. Hope you’ll join us!
