ARTESANO
5-Course Elevated Peruvian Tasting Event
In a city like New York, where new restaurants open daily, it’s quite a feat to leap onto such 2022 lists as Infatuation’s “Most Exciting Restaurant Openings” and Gotham Magazine’s “Most Highly Anticipated Openings.” Well, this Peruvian eatery from Executive Chef Rodrigo Fernandini managed to do just that. Peruvian cuisine, which showcases diverse influences from Spanish, African, Chinese, and Indigenous culinary traditions, is now recognized as one of the world’s greatest, and Chef Fernandini, who graduated at the top of his class from Lima’s Le Cordon Bleu and then earned his stripes cooking at Michelin-Starred restaurants, is an innovative practitioner and a social media star with roughly a million followers on TikTok and Instagram. At Artesano, his creations (which include extraordinary ceviches, gnocchi with mushrooms and walnuts, and octopus, duck, and short rib main courses) are brought to diners on stone plates handmade in Peru. Don't forget the mind-blowing desserts too - like Moray, a cheese mousse with sweet corn ice cream, chulpi praline, and lime gel!
