Auburn Angel
Day 1: 5-Course Avant-American Tasting Series
Opened this past April in Sweet Auburn (one of the nation’s most historic African American neighborhoods) in the vaunted space long inhabited by the legendary Auburn Avenue Rib Shack, Auburn Angel reflects the extraordinary diversity of Atlanta’s inhabitants with “global cuisine” landing it a spot on Infatuation’s “12 Best New Restaurants of 2024.” Executive Chef Robert Butts, who was part of the Twisted Soul team that won the inaugural episode of American Restaurant Battle on the Food Network, is a bright star on the Atlanta food scene. At Auburn Angel, he is turning out exciting dishes like beetroot tart with goat cheese mousse, pb & j (smoked pork belly with tomato jam, brioche toast, and walnut butter), duck confit with mash, and corvina, a tropical fish, with kohlrabi puree, wild mushrooms, and lemon butter emulsion. There are some fabulous desserts too, like strawberry napoleon and white fig brown sugar pie. “A shining reflection of the street’s legacy,” says Infatuation, while Resy cites Auburn Angel’s “stunning space.” We’re excited to visit here and hope you’ll join us!
