5-Course Portuguese Meets Indian Tasting Event

Opened in September of 2021, this River North gastropub soon landed on a bunch of “best of” lists, including USA Today’s “10 Best Indian Restaurants in Chicago,” Time Out’s “17 Best Indian Restaurants in Chicago,” and Eater’s “Best Restaurants in River North.” Goa, sometimes referred to as the “Ibiza of India,” is a vacation destination that sits on that nation’s southwest coast. For centuries, it was a Portuguese colony, and its unique cuisine, which merges Indian and Portuguese influences with an emphasis on seafood, is captured in this exciting eatery. When you walk into Bar Goa, with its tropical wallpaper, surfboards, and plant life on the walls, you’ll cast aside the Chicago winter, at least for a while. Chef Bhavin Chhatwani, who worked as a senior sous chef at two-Michelin-starred Taj Campton Place in San Francisco, is turning out memorable dishes like Goan whole fish, railway lamb curry, butter chicken croquettes, pork vindaloo sliders, and prawn and chorizo fried rice. We’re excited to visit here, to imagine ourselves on a warm beach, and to experience Goa’s distinctive and delicious cuisine!

Head Chef

Chef Bhavin Chhatwani attended culinary school at IHM – Aurangabad and honed his craft at at two-Michelin-starred Taj Campton Place restaurant in SF. In addition to specialty catering for events such as the Global Entrepreneur Summit, he previously headed the team at Adaa at the Taj Falaknuma Palace. Recently he joined Soiree hospitality as a head chef for Bar Goa.

Do I have to bring printed tickets to the event?
No tickets are needed.

The ticket price covers the full cost of the meal.

Do guests need to be of a certain age to attend this event?
Yes. All attendees must be 21+ to gain entry.
What must I bring to the event?
Please make sure to bring a government-issued photo ID.
Does this restaurant allow BYOB?
No. This restaurant is a non-BYO establishment. Outside alcohol will not be permitted at this event.
Can I bring guests/non-members to this event?
Yep! For this event, guest tickets are $85 + tax & tip, and you can bring up to 3 guests. Please note, guests are not allowed to attend unaccompanied by a member.
What is the event ticket cancellation/refund policy?
Restaurants purchase the food for our events 14 days before the event date, at which point we are on the hook for the cost of your ticket. As such, we are not able to offer refunds (or credits towards future events) for any cancellation requests submitted within 14 days of the event date. We will, however, issue full refunds for all cancellation requests submitted at least 14 days before the event date. All cancellation requests must be submitted via email to [email protected].
