Billy Can Can
5-Course Tribute to Olde-Tyme Texas Tasting Event
A true veteran on today’s tumultuous restaurant scene (having opened in 2018!) this buzzy saloon in Victory Park is keeping things fresh enough to be named to Eater’s 2024 List of “38 Essentials” and D Magazine’s List of “What Our Dining Critic is Most Excited About.” Executive Chef Matt Ford, who was a StarChefs' “Rising Star” Award-Winner in 2021, is working magic with dishes like crispy oyster sliders on sweet potato rolls, Texas venison tartare with dried cherries, wild boar lasagna, street corn ravioli, butcher’s steak frites, hot fried quail, and much more. (Leave room too for luscious desserts like banana pudding with whiskey caramel, red velvet cake with whipped mascarpone and cherry sorbet, and key lime cheesecake with rhubarb granita.) “One of the best restaurants in Dallas,” raves USA Today, while the Dallas Observor salutes “its killer renditions of skillet cornbread, Texas red chili, and summer okra succotash.” Naturally, we are primed for some upscale saloon action. See you there!
