Brasero
5-Course Live-Fire Latin American Tasting Event
Opened in February of 2024, this West Town celebration of South American cooking has been showered with accolades, making such lists as Robb Report’s “10 Best New Restaurants in the Country,” People’s “Best Food in Chicago", and Time Out’s “Best Chicago Restaurants". (Not to leave out Brasero's being a 2025 Banchet Awards Nominee for “Best New Restaurant”!) Chef/Owner John Manion moved to São Paulo when he was eight and never looked back. He immersed himself in Latin culture, particularly on the culinary side, and, as a Chicago restaurateur, he gave the city the essential La Sirena Clandestina, followed by El Che Steakhouse & Bar, a love letter to his travels in Argentina. At Brasero, his menu ranges from banana leaf poached black cod with trout roe beurre blanc to grilled oysters with citrus garlic butter, cilantro, and plantain-cashew crumble to braised pork shank, Brazilian fried quail, scallop crudo, and so much more. We’re truly excited to visit Brasero and to experience Latin cooking at its best!
