Catalú

Day 1: 5-Course Contemporary Catalonian Tasting Series

Opened just this past April, this Catalonian restaurant in the heart of Charlotte’s South End offers a contemporary twist on classic Spanish tapas. It is the newest concept from Manny and Paola Flores’ Que Hospitality group, which includes the popular Que Onda and Que Fresa, with a menu crafted out of Manny Flores’ years of experience working with James Beard Award-winning chef and restaurateur José Andrés, as well as his travels in Barcelona. In a sleek and stylish setting that summons up the best of the region, diners enjoy a menu that features marvelous Spanish cheeses, chorizo, ham, ceviche, piquillo peppers stuffed with goat cheese, patatas bravas, mussels and…well, so much more. It really feels like a trip overseas, at least for an evening, which explains why Axios gave Catalú a spot on its 2024 List of “Best Things to Do in Charlotte.” We’re doing it, and hope to see you there!
