Day 1: 5-Course Palate-Bending Pleasures Tasting Series

Opened in late 2021, this queer-owned, Michelin-Starred (as of 2024) North Beach eatery is thriving in the gifted hands of Chef Ollie K.C. Liedags, a 2024 James Beard Semi-Finalist for “Best Chef: California.” Initially born from its popular Brunch for Dinner pop-ups, Hilda & Jesse’s menu has evolved to include dinner. Not bound by tradition, the menu, served up in an environment that can best be described as “modernist diner,” showcases sweet and savory plays on classic dishes reimagined, made with impeccably sourced ingredients and fine dining technique. Here, diners feast on such fare as grilled artichokes with sunflower seeds, snap peas, Meyer lemon, and chili, trout with avocado and citrus gelée, duck breast à l’orange, spiced lamb meatballs with rhubarb sauce, dandelion chocolate lava cake, and more. “There is nothing precious or manicured about the cooking here,” says the Michelin Guide. “It is often bold and brash, a total riot of flavors mixed with stellar ingredients, and dishes are equal parts unexpected and undeniably satisfying.” We can’t wait to visit here and hope you’ll be able to join us!

Chef Ollie K.C. Liedags worked their way through kitchens in South Carolina before eventually moving to San Francisco. They then opened Hilda and Jesse in 2021. In 2024, they were named a 2024 James Beard Semi-Finalist for "Best Chef: California".

Does this restaurant allow BYOB?
No. This restaurant is a non-BYO establishment. Outside alcohol will not be permitted at this event.
What is the event ticket cancellation/refund policy?
Restaurants purchase the food for our events 14 days before the event date, at which point we are on the hook for the cost of your ticket. As such, we are not able to offer refunds (or credits towards future events) for any cancellation requests submitted within 14 days of the event date. We will, however, issue full refunds for all cancellation requests submitted at least 14 days before the event date. All cancellation requests must be submitted via email to support@tastingcollective.com.
