Judy's Bay

Day 6: 5-Course New England Izakaya Tasting Series

Opened just shy of two years ago, this Asian fusion Cambridge izakaya continues to appear on vaunted lists such as Boston Magazine’s “Hottest Restaurants” and Boston Globe’s “Best in Boston.” Chef/Owner Lukas Dow and his wife Kim set out to provide delicious Japanese and East Asian-inspired foods with a special emphasis on local seafood and seasonal ingredients. Chef Lukas, a recreational fisherman and former farmer who graduated from local Cambridge schools and Tufts University, named the restaurant for his late grandmother Judy - who, along with her husband, owned a restaurant in coastal Fairhaven, Massachusetts for over 30 years. Previously cooking in the kitchens of such acclaimed Boston-area restaurants as Cafe Sushi, Mei Mei, and L’Espalier, he is now turning out superb entrees like lobster roe pasta with watercress and butter cream sauce, monkfish katsu, and sake chicken. “Seafood so fresh you’ll taste the ocean in every bite,” raves Infautation, so, naturally, we’re primed to visit. See you there!
