Kitty Dare
Day 1: 5-Course Mediterranean Whimsy Tasting Series
Opened in 2021, this Mediterranean-flavored eatery has appeared on both Eater’s and Infatuation’s Lists of “Best Inman Park Restaurants” and Resy’s List of “10 Restaurants that Define Atlanta Dining.” Owner Jaamy Zarnegars was born and raised in Iran, coming to the US in 1978 and beginning his restaurant career while attending UNC-Greensboro. In 1993, he moved to Athens, GA where he became the GM of the famed Last Resort Grill, eventually becoming a co-owner. In 2020, he decided to open a restaurant named after his late friend Kitty Dare Ethridge. Kitty Dare is Jaamy’s first venture on his own and stands as a tribute to his late friend. Here, Executive Chef Giuseppe Esposito, born in the Emilia region of Northern Italy, is executing a menu that features such dishes as berbere chicken with preserved lemon, cacio e pepe risotto, gnocchi with black garlic, mint yogurt, and lamb ragu, and bucatini with shrimp. And for dessert? Perhaps the white chocolate pistachio cheesecake or the cardamom orange crème brûlèe. We’re excited for our visit and hope to see you there!
