Lardon
Day 1: 5-Course Old World Inspired Tasting Series
Opened in 2021, this Logan Square eatery jumped right onto Infatuation’s List of “Best New in Chicago” and now, three years later, is on Time Out’s List of “37 Best in Logan Square” and was a 2022 and 2023 Winner of a Michelin Bib Gourmand. Lardon was created by Chef Chis Thompson, an expert at curing meats. The focus of this all-day restaurant, which transforms from daytime café to nighttime French bistro, is its charcuterie program, which focuses on the utilization of the whole animal, sourcing from local farmers and purveyors throughout the Midwest. Here, diners find dishes like duck confit and cabbage with hazelnuts and goat cheese, steak tartare, steak frites with blue cheese butter and garlic aioli, and much more, including that superb charcuterie. And it’s all served up in a splendid 110-year old building with exposed brick walls and restored antique honeycomb tiled floors. We’re really excited to visit here and hope you’ll join us!
