Lenoir
5-Course Globally Inspired Tasting Event
A true veteran on the volatile restaurant scene, having opened in 2012, this delightful French-inspired eatery on South First continues to gather accolades, including an appearance on Eater’s 2023 List of “11 Best Tasting Menus in Austin” and Austin.Com’s 2024 list of “10 Phenomenal Restaurants.” Chef/Owner Todd Duplechan, a native Texan, and his partner Jessica Maher met while honing their cooking skills in NYC. There he worked on the line at top restaurants such as Danube (under Chef David Bouley), Tabla (under Chef Floyd Cardoz), and the Core Club (under James Beard Nominated Chef Dan Kluger). It wasn’t long before they decided to make their home in Austin to create a farm-to-table, mom-and-pop restaurant that served the food they loved. Here, in a shabby chic setting with white-washed walls, distressed farmhouse tables, and rustic benches, Chef Duplechan offers a menu with highlights like red corn and pecan hushpuppies, chestnut mushroom toast with chevre and roasted garlic, blue crab manicotti with golden beets, and desserts like brown butter pecan cake with crème fraiche and ginger mayhaw jelly. Lenoir, named for the grape with hardy rootstock growing all over the Texas Hill Country, also boasts a wine garden that Infatuation calls “one of our favorite places in the whole city.” We can’t wait!
