Lenox
Day 2: 5-Course Afro-Latin Oasis Tasting Series
Opened in June, this Belltown eatery inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Afro and Latin American cuisine zoomed right onto Bon Appétit’s “7 Best New Restaurants in the U.S.” List, Seattle Times “Best New Restaurants” List, and Infatuation’s “Best Belltown Restaurants” List. Chef/Owner Jhonny Reyes’ food sensibilities were formed in Puerto Rico and Harlem. Moving to Seattle, he earned his stripes cooking for the James Beard Award-Winning restaurant JuneBaby and became something of a celeb chef when he won Chopped. At Lenox, which emerged out of a popular and influential pop-up called Latin Soul, Chef Reyes is serving knockout dishes like mofongo (mashed plantains with shrimp sauce), empanadas with beef ropa vieja, ceviche with avocado and rockfish, adobo mussels, grilled chicken skewers with guava bbq, and coconut lime tres leches cake. We’re very excited to visit Lenox and to hear from Chef Reyes about the glories of Latin Soul food. See you there!
