Mabu Kitchen
5-Course French Meets Southern Tasting Event
Debuting in February 2022, this delightful meld of French and American Southern cooking is the brainchild of Chef Ayad Sinawi. Originally planned as a restaurant in Mabou, the Nova Scotia fishing village where Chef Sinawi has summered for the last 20 years, it got sidetracked by COVID. Determined not to give up however, Chef Sinawi stumbled upon a Pine Street location on a visit to Philadelphia in 2021. He was enchanted by the space, and so Mabu Kitchen was born. Originally from Vancouver, Chef Sinawi graduated from the French Culinary Institute and worked at Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality. He fell in love with Southern cooking, which is reflected in Mabu Kitchen's menu, with dishes like southern mac 'n cheese, and shrimp and grits. At the same time, the French influence is apparent in his steak au poivre and duck rillette. The Infatuation has named Mabu Kitchen to its list of "New Restaurant Openings You Should Know About," and we couldn't agree more!
