Machetes
Day 2: 5-Course Memories of Mexico City Tasting Series
Conceived by Chef Diego Palacios, Machetes began its residency at OK Omens just a few months ago in October. However, this love letter to Chef Palacios’ homeland is already making waves. Offering elevated interpretations on Mexico City’s street food classics, Machetes has already garnered coveted spots on PDX Monthly’s “Best Eats” List and Resy’s “Hit List”. Here, diners delight in such fare as tie-dyed heirloom corn masa quesadillas, octopus and shrimp ceviche served on chicharrón, and confit turkey with mole negro. Make sure you leave room for their playful desserts too, with sweet treats like carlota de limón (lime icebox cake), tartaleta de chocolate (a chocolate tart), and a homemade Choco Taco made with xocolatl ice cream and chocolate “krispies.” Naturally, we are primed to visit. See you there!
