Maxwells Trading
Day 1: 5-Course Palate-Bending Pleasures Tasting Series
Opened just a year ago, this Michelin-recommended eatery in the West Loop vaulted right onto Esquire’s “Best New in America” List and won Eater’s Award for “Best New Restaurant in Chicago.” Opened by Chef-Owner Erling Wu-Bower of Pacific Standard Time, our event will be in the hands of Executive Chef Chris Jung, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, a 2024 “Rising Star Chef” Award-Winner, and a Momotaro alum. Here, diners delight in dishes like Japanese sweet potatoes with Thai green curry and basil, roasted delicata squash with honeynut grits, braised shiitake, and parmesan, clay pot mushroom rice, turbot with kombu beurre blanc, and inventive desserts like forbidden rice pudding with coconut and mango and Basque butter cake with blueberry, lavender, thyme, and Prosecco sabayon. And it’s all served up in a stunning modern industrial setting. Time Out raves about the “big-city cooking with joy and witty nuance [and] the exuberance of experiencing something as deliciously original as it is accessible.” We look forward to experiencing Maxwells Trading with you!
