5-Course Nouveau Filipino Tasting Event

Opening last September on East 6th Street, this modern Filipino restaurant vaulted right onto Infatuation’s List of “Top 25 Restaurants in Austin” and Eater’s List of “Hottest in Austin.” OKO is the new creation from FAM Hospitality, co-founded by James Beard and “Top Chef” Award-Winning chef, Paul Qui. The menu at OKO, devised by Chef de Cuisine Harold Villarosa, who trained at top New York City dining establishments like Per Se and Aquavit, is designed to tell the story of Filipino history and culture filtered through a Texas prism. Here, diners delight in Filipino street-food skewers like pork neck with burnt kalamasi dressing, chicken with anatto oil, sticky ribs; braised oxtail, crispy pork belly, and so much more. “High style and huge flavor,” raves Austin Chronicle. “Restaurants like OKO don’t come to Austin every day (or every year), so curious gourmands owe it to themselves to snag a table as soon as possible.” What more is there to say? Hailing from the Philippines, Chef Harold Villarosa received his earliest culinary education in the bukid rice paddies of Iloilo City. An alum of world-renowned NOMA in Copenhagen, he has also previously cooked for the likes of 3-Michelin-Starred Per Se, 2-Michelin-Starred Aquavit, Michelin-Starred Aureole, and Michelin-Starred Rouge Tomate.

Does this restaurant allow BYOB?
No. This restaurant is a non-BYO establishment. Outside alcohol will not be permitted at this event.
What is the event ticket cancellation/refund policy?
Restaurants purchase the food for our events 14 days before the event date, at which point we are on the hook for the cost of your ticket. As such, we are not able to offer refunds (or credits towards future events) for any cancellation requests submitted within 14 days of the event date. We will, however, issue full refunds for all cancellation requests submitted at least 14 days before the event date. All cancellation requests must be submitted via email to support@tastingcollective.com.
What dietary restrictions/food allergies can be accommodated at this event?
At this event, the menu is Shellfish-Free. The restaurant WILL be providing substitutions exclusively for the following restrictions/allergies: Vegetarians, Pescatarians, Nuts, Gluten, Alliums, Dairy, and Mushroom. The restaurant WILL NOT be able to accommodate the following restrictions/allergies: Fish.
