Októ
5-Course Ottoman Opulence Tasting Event
Opened this past August in Montrose, this hot new eatery hopped right onto Eater’s List of “Essential Mediterranean in Houston”, while its Executive Chef, Yotam Dolev, was a Culture Map Houston "Tastemaker" Award Nominee for “Rising Star Chef.” Októ, which is Greek for “eight,” showcases innovative dishes inspired by Greece, Spain, and the Levant. Chef Dolev was born in New York but moved to Israel when he was four. After moving to Houston, he immediately joined the team at Doris Metropolitan. He knew he had to work there, and so he was hired as a line cook. That worked out so well that the owners enlisted him to head the kitchen at the beloved Hamsa. At Októ, the dishes range from halloumi bites to eggplant carpaccio to grilled sea bass with artichoke risotto, crab squid ink linguini, grilled wild mushrooms, and memorable desserts like Basque cheesecake and pistachio four ways. We love this kind of food and are guessing you do too, so we hope to see you there!
