Phoenix Palace
5-Course Elevated Cantonese Tasting Event
Opened just this past August in the heart of Chinatown, this new venture from the team behind the popular Potluck Club has already appeared on such vaunted lists as Town and Country’s “15 Best NYC Restaurants” and New Yorker’s “Most Anticipated NYC Restaurants.” Executive Chef Zhan Chen, bborn and bredin Chinatown, graduated from the Institute for Culinary Education before joining the kitchens of Jams from Jonathan Waxman and Pheasant in Williamsburg… and then the Potluck Club. Here at Phoenix Palace, Chef Chen is turning out dishes that are a little Cantonese, a little American, and even a little Italian. Diners delight in such fare as bok choy with pecorino, salt & pepper cuttlefish with tomato jam, lobster sticky rice with pancetta, duck breast with hoisin-romesco sauce and spicy cucumbers, and scallop and vermicelli with garlic crisp and cilantro. “A love letter to Chinatown,” says Town and Country. “Brings a fresh twist to traditional Cantonese cuisine.” Well, that sounds amazing to our ears, so we are excited to visit. Hope to see you there!
