5-Course Avant-American Tasting Event
Opened way back in 2017, this celebrated Chinatown eatery is going stronger than ever, appearing on such 2024 lists as Time Out’s “Best in Vegas,” Travel + Leisure’s “20 Famous Las Vegas Restaurants to Try,” and Eater’s “38 Essential Restaurants.” Sparrow + Wolf is the creation of Chef Brian Howard, who earned his stripes leading the kitchens of legendary chefs Thomas Keller and Kerry Simon (and who is himself a James Beard "Best Chef: Southwest" nominee this year). His menu, spearheaded by hosting Executive Chef Kyle Johnson, has an emphasis on hearth-cooked food and is a collection of time-honored American recipes that reflect his Midwest background and global interests, with dishes like oxtail hummus, wild boar lasagna, Spanish octopus with squid ink risotto, black pepper honey pork secreto with sweet potato banana puree, and desserts like Vietnamese coffee with coffee ice cream and honey toast with blood orange sorbet. “An edgy rotating menu with universal appeal,” says Condé Nast Traveler, so, naturally, we are excited to break bread here. A Sin City native, Chef Kyle Johnson began his career at the acclaimed Michelin-Starred Alize under renowned Chefs Andre Rochat and Jacques Van Staden. In addition to staging at notable kitchens like 2-Michelin-Starred Picasso, Guy Savoy, and Bradley Ogden, he has worked through some of the nation's finest restaurants, including Paramour, Local 127, and Bourbon Steak.
