Day 2: 5-Course Inventive Mediterranean Tasting Series

Opened just this past March, this Bucktown bistro just landed on Eater’s List of “Hottest New In Chicago,” and draws heavily on Mediterranean influences, as well as the flavors of Asia and South America. Chef/Owner Avgeria Stapaki, who began her career at celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s restaurant in Athens, worked in professional kitchens throughout Europe, eventually taking over the Principote Mykonos beach club. Four years later, she arrived in Chicago to helm the kitchen at Nisos in Fulton Market - where she met hosting Chef/Owner Adalberto Olaez (of Lao Pen You, Boeufhaus, and GreenRiver.) At TÁMA (which translates to “a miracle") together they're making miracles every day with a menu that brings together casual comfort and creative artistry. In the space formerly occupied by Michelin-Starred Claudia, Chef Olaez delights diners with dishes like octopus with onion chutney and fava bean puree, short rib orzo, patatas bravas, and a highly inventive mashup called avgolemono ramen with Swiss chard “nori” and crispy chicken thighs. We’re excited to visit here, to meet Chef Olaez, and to hear more about his food ideas.

Chef Adalberto Olaez, along with fellow Chef/Partner Avgeria Stapaki, opened TÁMA to share the traditions of their cultures, committing to their love of seafood, produce, terroir, and creative harmony. A former chef de cuisine at Nisos to Stapaki, he has also cooked at Lao Peng You, Boeufhaus, and now-shuttered GreenRiver in Streeterville.

Do I have to bring printed tickets to the event?
No tickets are needed.
What does the ticket price cover?
The ticket price covers the full cost of the meal.
What dietary restrictions/food allergies can be accommodated at this event?
At this event we will be able to accommodate all dietary restrictions and food allergies. Just make sure to update your dietary restrictions within your Account Info before or after you purchase tickets, or email us at [email protected] after you purchase tickets to let us know what your allergies/restrictions are so we can give the chef a heads up.
Do guests need to be of a certain age to attend this event?
Yes. All attendees must be 21+ to gain entry.
Does this restaurant allow BYOB?
No. This restaurant is a non-BYO establishment. Outside alcohol will not be permitted at this event.
What is the event ticket cancellation/refund policy?
Tickets to our events are non-refundable. However, for emergency requests, we may allow members to transfer their tickets to friends, provided the guest ticket surcharge of $25 is paid when transferring a member ticket to a non-member. All ticket transfer requests (as well as the guest ticket surcharge) must be sent to us prior to the event. Any guests who have not paid the guest ticket surcharge will not be allowed entry.
What must I bring to the event?

Can I bring guests/non-members to this event?
Yep! For this event, guest tickets are $90 + tax & tip, and you can bring up to 3 guests. Please note, guests are not allowed to attend unaccompanied by a member.
