The Goodyear House

5-Course Nouveau Americana Tasting Event

Enter this fully repurposed 1900s era mill house on the main drag of NoDa and discover an environment that celebrates history, with original wood floors and fireplace, but also culinary innovation. Chef/Owner Chris Coleman, a native Charlottean (and a TC regular at this point!) gained an appreciation for local ingredients while spending summers on his grandparents’ farm in Mississippi. At 14, he started working at a local fish camp, going from busser to kitchen expediter. While a student in Central Piedmont’s culinary program, he took a job as a line cook at the McNinch House, one of Charlotte’s most storied fine dining restaurants, and was quickly promoted to head chef at the age of 21. He’s been on quite a trajectory since then, most recently at Haymaker but first opening The Asbury, a 40-seat farm-to-fork restaurant at The Dunhill Hotel that won multiple Charlotte Magazine “Best of the Best” Awards. At The Goodyear House, he turns out signature dishes like smoked cashew mac and cheese, Mississippi roast, and red devil chicken. Did we mention that Chef Coleman is also a rising media star? He has appeared on Chopped and Beat Bobby Flay, where his Chicken and Rice Stew defeated the Iron Chef. We can't wait to once again stop in for a visit with him!
