Tulip Pasta & Wine

Day 2: 5-Course Modern Italian Tasting Series

Opened in 2022, this Fishtown eatery has appeared on many “Best Of” lists, including Infatuation’s “Best Italian in Philly,” Food & Wine’s “Best Wine Bars in Philly,” and Philadelphia Magazine’s “50 Best Restaurants in Philadelphia.” Tulip was opened by Jason Cichonski, who is something of a food prodigy (having served as Executive Chef at Lacroix in the Rittenhouse Hotel when he was only 24). He then went on to open Ela, which Philadelphia Inquirer restaurant reviewer Craig LaBan raved over in a “Three Bells” review. Here, his protégé (and our hosting chef) Head Chef Gregory Walker is turning out amazing pasta dishes like carrot ravioli with pistachio and brown butter, seared potato gnocchi with butternut squash and bacon, and bucatini with lamb ragu. Leave room as well for such desserts as dirty chai tiramisu and s’mores panna cotta. And the wine is a product of the celebrated Wayvine Winery & Vineyard in Nottingham. Infatuation calls Tulip “a completely original take on the neighborhood osteria,” so naturally we are super-excited to pay it a visit. See you there!
