Day 1: 5-Course Globally-Infused Southern Tasting Series
First opened in Decatur and then, in 2016, in its current location one the Upper Westside, this wildly popular eatery offers nothing less than the apotheosis of soul food. Chef Deborah VanTrece, a 2023 James Beard Semi-Finalist for "Best Chef: Southeast", has shepherded Twisted Soul (with the help of hosting Executive Chef Robert Butts) onto such “Best Of” lists as Eater’s “38 Essential Atlanta Restaurants” and Atlanta Magazine’s” “50 Best Restaurants.” Her claim to fame is that she reinterprets classic soul food with modern international flavors. Consider dishes like crispy fried chicken paired with sweet potato chutney, hoisin-glazed oxtails, and apricot-cilantro-chili salmon rolls with miso aioli. Her interest in global influences stems from her early career as a flight attendant for United Airlines, which took her around the world many times over. Switching gears to a culinary career, she has established herself as a best-selling cookbook writer, an all-around media personality, and an advocate for social justice. We are pumped to visit here and to discover how one dynamic chef has reinterpreted and invigorated a great American cooking tradition!

Georgia-grown, Chef Robert Butts honed his craft cooking in the south of France before returning to the US. He is a two-time Taste of Atlanta winner, was featured by StarChefs, and was recently recognized as a Top 10 Up And Coming Chef by NOLA Farm to Table. He is also a featured Chef for Food Lifestyle TV.

- No tickets are needed.
- What does the ticket price cover?
- The ticket price covers the full cost of the meal.
- Do guests need to be of a certain age to attend this event?
- Yes. All attendees must be 21+ to gain entry.
- Does this restaurant allow BYOB?
- No. This restaurant is a non-BYO establishment. Outside alcohol will not be permitted at this event.
- Can I bring guests/non-members to this event?
- Yep! For this event, guest tickets are $85 + tax & tip, and you can bring up to 3 guests. Please note, guests are not allowed to attend unaccompanied by a member.
- What is the event ticket cancellation/refund policy?
- Restaurants purchase the food for our events 14 days before the event date, at which point we are on the hook for the cost of your ticket. As such, we are not able to offer refunds (or credits towards future events) for any cancellation requests submitted within 14 days of the event date. We will, however, issue full refunds for all cancellation requests submitted at least 14 days before the event date. All cancellation requests must be submitted via email to [email protected].
