Wild South

5-Course South Louisiana Opulence Tasting Event

Opened this past February on a quiet, residential street in the Lower Garden District, Wild South extols the culinary traditions of South Louisiana at the same time it reimagines them. The inventiveness you will find here earned Wild South a spot on Eater’s List of “Hottest in NOLA” - no big surprise given that this project comes from Chef Michael Stoltzfus, whose previous restaurant, Coquette, became a Garden District favorite as soon as it opened in 2008. Here his hand-selected successor, hosting Chef Bret Macris helms a menu including items like smoked oysters with andouille sausage, corn, and squash, fried crawfish tails with trout roe and pickled cabbage, Mississippi lamb with chanterelles and blackberries, and blueberry custard with lavender and pecans. We are excited to visit here and to chew the fat, as it were, with Chef Macris!
