Mango Pickle in Chicago
We were lucky enough to get our first event series in the books with Chef Marisa Paolillo and the team at Mango Pickle literally right before Chicago Mag's best new restaurants issue hit the stores and their reservation book got filled to the brim. 120+ members (and their guests) journeyed to Edgewater for this back-to-back Thursday collaboration series! Chef Paolillo showed us why this place is scorching hot with her incredibly innovative approach to Indian cuisine. While attendee feedback on some of the courses was mixed, there were quite a few showstoppers in the mix that everyone agreed on! Below are the 3 top courses from each event as rated by attendees on their feedback cards:
DAY 1
1st Place: Butter Chicken - served in tomato curry with cinnamon, cumin, black cardamom, and ginger
2nd Place: Paneer Pops - house made with cilantro, ginger, chives, and lemon preserves
3rd Place: Taro Root Pakoras - with shaved fennel, cucumber, red onion, and tomato
DAY 2
1st Place: Chocolate & Somras Pot De Creme - with madras au lait, south indian milk coffee
2nd Place: Butter Chicken - served in tomato curry with cinnamon, cumin, black cardamom, and ginger
3rd Place: Taro Root Pakoras - with shaved fennel, cucumber, red onion, and tomato
