Post-Modern Gastronomy Tasting Series

Anomaly in San Francisco

The just-shy-of-a-year-old Anomaly caught our eye immediately when it came onto the scene last January. (Given that Chef/Owner Mike Lanham has a CV glittering with Michelin Stars, who could blame us?) We weren't the only ones either, with Anomaly quickly landing coveted spots on Town and Country’s “10 to Visit in SF” List and Thrillist’s “Best SF Restaurants”. Even with Chef Lanham's SF Mag “Top 8 Chef” status though (and again, even with his previous stellar work with Michelin-Starred Spruce and 2-Michelin-Starred Commis), we never could have IMAGINED the wonders this innovative and ingenious team would cook up for us. With dish after dish of dazzling decadence and heartfelt stories of Chef Lanham's culinary journey from the man himself, there's no question in our minds that Anomaly's bound for culinary glory. But, if you missed it, see what all the buzz is about for yourself with a ranking of the top three courses (as determined by post-event feedback left by guests on their feedback cards) below:

1st Place: Coconut Mango Egg with white chocolate pearls and finger lime

2nd Place: Celery Root "Steak" with mushroom jus, Pedro Ximenez sherry vinegar, and pickled onion

3rd Place: Brandt Beef New York with "milk cured" Brandt Farms beef, grilled maitake, and caramelized beet purée
