Revisiting Roots Dinner Series

The Duck Inn in Chicago

This was our first-ever event series at The Duck Inn and our first trip to Bridgeport. We couldn't have imagined a better person to welcome us to the neighborhood than Chef Kevin Hickey, whose familial history in Bridgeport goes back 5 generations! Chef Hickey put together an incredibly adventurous, and ambitious, menu for us filled with unexpected texture and flavor combinations. Below are the 3 top courses from each day as rated by attendees on their feedback cards:

 

DAY 1

1st Place: Rotisserie Duck - with duck fat potatoes, baby kale, and lemon vinaigrette

2nd Place: Spanish Octopus - with activated charcoal mayo, shishito pepper, lemon, and cucumber

3rd Place: Spaghetti and Snails - with black garlic pasta and nasturtium pistou

 

DAY 2
