Glory of the Gulf Coast Tasting Event

After a year of culinary all-stars, we knew our last event of 2023 had to be one for the TC record books. But even we could never have predicted that, shortly after confirming the scorching hot Café Camellia as our December NYC event, this gem would be named one of NY Times' "50 Best Restaurants in the ENTIRE US!" Our excitement literally couldn't have been higher but, somehow, Chef/Owner Roger Jacobsen and his team exceeded every expectation, with beautifully plated dishes and enchantingly told stories. It was a night full of memories we won't soon forget (although of course, with Chef Jacobsen being an alum of such estimable establishments as Inoteca, Blue Water Grill, and L’atelier de Joel Robuchon, how could it not be?) Get a glimpse of this special end-of-year event below, along with a ranking of the top three courses (as determined by the post-event feedback left by guests on their feedback cards):

 

1st Place: Shrimp Rice and Beans with andouille, smoked pork, egg, and trinity sauce


2nd Place (tie): Key Lime Pie with toasted coconut, and candied lime zest, and Banana Pudding Tart with caramel and a vanilla wafer


3rd Place: Crab Cake with whole grain mustard and a pickled onion and herb salad
